A simple sitemap for better indexing

Kuya Mark’s Super Simple Sitemap

I added a very basic sitemap 5 days ago. It’s a simple html sitemap that enumerates all the posts in this blog as well as all the albums in the gallery. Some of my old posts are not indexed so I figured I’ll make it clear to the search engines which pages should be indexed. It is not even a Google sitemaps readable format; I still have doubts in how that affects search engine rankings. I just placed the link in my footer and see if I experience some improvements. I do have more pages in Google’s list of indexed pages in my site compared to 5 days ago but it’s still too early to tell.

I’ve created a copy, which you can use, without the Coppermine albums listing. If you want to try it out, just download sitemap.zip, place it in your root folder then link to http://yoursite.com/sitemap.php from anywhere on your site, preferably on your footer. Of course you have to be running Wordpress.
